Who are the Friends of Whalley Primary School?
All those that have an association with Whalley School can be classed as "Friends" whether they be pupils, parents, staff, villagers, past, present or future. We run social and/or fundraising events for the children and their families. Money raised is used to provide school with extras that they might otherwise not be able to afford.
Our fundraising events are not only a great way of raising money, but provide an environment for children and parents to mix outside of the normal school hours.
We hold regular meetings where we discuss fundraising needs and share ideas for future events. These meetings are both informal, friendly and open to all.
Our main projects for 2016/17 are as follows:
Developing reading by auditing books currently available for KS2 .
To review musical instruments in school in order to develop musical composition.
Purchasing of I pads and covers, to be used throughout the school KS1 and KS2.
We will continue to work closely with teachers within school to continue to support the needs of all classes throughout the whole school.
Thank you so much to all parents, past and present, for their generous contributions to fund-raising events.
Thank you to everyone for your time, effort, support and attendance at events.
There is so much that the children are able to enjoy in school that would not have been possible without the funds provided by The Friends of Whalley Church of England Primary School.
